Commercial grinding

Commercial grinding (sometimes known as Lumsden or Plough grinding) is one of the most efficient means of achieving bulk metal removal whilst maintaining dimensional accuracy.

GU have one of the largest commercial grinding capacities available for sub-contract use. For detailed machine sizes please see our Capacity list.

All our commercial grinding machines are generally capable of working to tolerances of +/- .25mm thickness, grinding parallel within .20mm and achieving a 3.2 um (125 cla) finish.
