Commercial grinding (sometimes known as Lumsden or Plough grinding) is one of the most efficient means of achieving bulk metal removal whilst maintaining dimensional accuracy.

GU's surface (precision) grinding machine has a working capacity of 4.5m x 1.8m x 1.25m making it one of the largest surface grinding machines used exclusively for sub-contract work in the country.

As a compliment to our extensive grinding services we also offer the facility to grind the edges of rectangular plates. The machine has a maximum working length of 3m and grind edges of plates up to 250mm thick.
